There have been concerns raised by government officials about the frequency with which alleged terrorism suspects have been Latino converts to terroristic Islam, which I consider different than both radical and traditional Islam. On December 8th the FBI arrested Antonio Martinez, and charged him with planning to blow up a military recruitment center. His motive, [...]

In this video, a teacher asks Janet Murgia of NCLR how indigenous people may be included in the immigration discussion, since the debate always revolves around “Hispanics” and “Latinos.” My answer? Reawaken our people to our true identity: We are Anahuaca, Mexica, Indigenous and pronounce this as often as we can when we speak. Share [...]

Admiral Thad Allen is the US government’s top guy overseeing BP’s oil spill in the gulf. He was recently interviewed by CNN’s Candy Crowley. Even top Democrats, like James Carville, have railed against the Obama administrations response, lampooning the administration for thinking that “they are actually partners” with BP and for thinking that BP actually [...]

I don’t know if “hero” is the right word, but there is certainly a place in the history of struggle for those slaves who broke free from their masters’ grip and ran north or ran to indigenous nations toward freedom. Actually, yeah, hero is the right word. Certainly, one of their organizers, Harriet Tubman, is [...]

CNN did a fact check on this ad, which claims changing statewide tests to an English-only format would save the state some money. Results? WRONG. The computerized tests cost nothing extra, and an English-only format might actually cost the state of Alabama more due to federal funding being yanked and the law suits which would result. [...]

Raul Alcaraz has a message on the answer to the migration woes that our community faces. It is refreshing to know that my ideas are not unique. Separation, revolution, self-determination, restoration: Their system should not be the “end all/be all” of our visions for a better world. If we limit ourselves to the confines of [...]

MSNBC Commentator Keith Olbermann speaks on racism present and past. He even goes into the anthropological aspects for a second. Many people confuse my rants against “White Power” with me taking a position against all white people. In fact, my measure for a human being are her soul and her deeds. It is true, as Olbermann suggests, that [...]
