Minutemen Kill Beautiful Nine-Year Old, Media Silent
I first saw this post on facebook, by Stace Medellin of Dos Centavos. I was a little incredulous at first, not because I doubt Stace, but because I saw no news coverage of this in the national news. I still have a hard time believing that this could have happened recently and that CNN, MSNBC, Fox News has nothing about this murder of a nine-year-old at the hands of the Minutemen. Not even a link. Not even a tiny one. This is a slap in the face to the entire community. Her life isn’t worth a link?
I went to Yahoo News search (not the general search) and typed in Minuteman, then Minutemen, and all I got were two links. One from the Huffington Post and one from The Mercury. That’s it. I tried the same thing using the word Holocaust as the keyword. Page after page.
The press was all over the minutemen when they were parading around the border, playing GI Joe. They were all over the holocaust slaying a few days ago. This is as dramatic and bloody as it gets, as the murderers were even dressed as cops.
Then the press has the audacity to wonder why people are turning to bloggers for their news. I heard it from two bloggers before anyone else!

School children grieve murder of
classmate by the Minutemen
La Voz de Aztlan has learned that little Brisenia Flores murdered by the
Minutemen vigilantes in Arivaca, Arizona would have started summer
school Monday.
Dr. Manny Valenzuela, Assistant Superintendent of the Sahuarita School
District, says eight-year-old Brisenia Flores was going to be in fourth grade.
Dr Valenzuela said that grief counselors are presently helping students
cope with the killing of their classmate by the racist Minutemen.
Brisenia Flores attended Sopori Elementary School, a campus of just over
200 K-6th grade students.
When summer school starts today, Dr. Valenzuela says a crisis team will be
on hand to help students cope with the loss of their friend and classmate. He
says moms and dads can do their part to assist kids in the healing process.
“I think that the important thing, first of all, is to talk with them, to be open to
answering their questions, to let them know that it’s OK to feel sad and upset
and that it’s OK to ask for help.”
It is strange that the mainstream media has not given this horrible incident the
coverage it deserves. There has been no let down on the national news about
the gunman that killed one guard at the Jewish holocaust museum. Here we have
a racist militia invading a family home and killing a father and an 8-year-old
child and they say nothing.
