My wife called Mumbai

My wife is not overly political, but she called me a few weeks again because she was geniuinely concered about what she was (or wasn’t) seeing on TV. She was watching CNN, and she asked me whether I knew that the US was engaging in bombings of Pakistanis. Of course she was concerned for the victims, but she was really concerned that the only coverage seemed to exist in the news tickers. There seemed to be no mention of it other than that.

She predicted that there would soon be retaliation in the region, and that that would take center stage in newsrooms, with no mention of the previous civilian deaths caused by the US in the previous few weeks.

Dicho y hecho. We got Mumbai with no mention of what lead up to it. I challenge you to find one story (besides aljazeera’s http://aljazeera.com/news/newsfull.php?newid=188930) that mentions what was going down in the region in the past few weeks.

One last thing, the US has also been attacking Syria…but you might have to read the news tickers to find out.
