Texas Border Cameras Result In Failure

Last year, Governor Perry secured two million dollars from a federal grant to install and monitor cameras at the border. The idea was to allow the public to aid in monitoring the border activity from their browsers, in effect creating arm-chair minutemen.

A report obtained by the El Paso Times says that 125,000 people registered as virtual minutemen (or “deputies” according to the state). AP reports more details

According to a year-end report submitted by the sheriffs coalition, nearly 40 million people logged on worldwide, including in Switzerland, Australia and even Mexico.

Although viewers didn’t report much illegal activity, they were active on the site. They sent about 3,900 reports and comments from Feb. 2 to Feb. 8. Dozens said they were confused about whether images were humans or animals.

With the 2 million dollar grant, only 17 (of 200) cameras were installed and even 11 people were arrested.

This is one of the comments that your 2 million paid for

“Just a word of warning: A moment ago I saw a spider crawl across the top of the camera,” the report read. “You might want to try and prevent any webs from being spun across the lens area by treating with repellent or take other measures.”

Ahora el guey queire dos millones mas. No joke. He wants two million more. Two million dollars to install 17 cameras. Where does all the money go? Sin verguenzas.

I find the use of these cameras deplorable and racists against La Raza. These are all tactics used and being employed to keep people who are just seeking to escape the ravages of ‘pobreza’ waged on their communities via NAFTA, CAFTA and other trade agreements that displace ‘el pueblo’ from making a living on their lands. For example, it’s documented because of NAFTA, the Mexican Government forces farmers in Mexico from growing crops such as corn and wheat so that Mexico can import those crops from the United States to sell in those markets. What are these people then forced to do? Well, they are going to pick up and leave. Like La Voz de Aztlan has stated in their articles, which I would recommend to read @ http://www.aztlan.net, the chickens have come home to roost.
