Values: Carnalismo

It seems simple enough: any movement which intends to create revolutionary change, must be rooted in revolutionary values. Movements which focus on incremental change are very valuable and push us to the point where we look to revolutionary change. Once there, we will deconstruct the old values which we have been programmed with and push forward with our new utopian vision.

I believe that this is why Che said, “at the risk of sounding absurd, a revolutionary must have a great deal of love.” At the time he said this, it was ab absurd idea to think about loving the people.

I was also reading a piece on Angela Davis, and I noticed that she mentioned, that even though she grew up in the same area as condi rice, she was taught completely different values. rice was taught always to get ahead as an individual, and Davis was taught that individual success was not all that important if the people around you (your brothers and sisters) were suffering.

Many times, in our daily battles, we forget some of the underlying values which pushed us to act in the first place. From time to time I hope to post blogs on values that will be important to Our New Anahuac. Carnalismo is the first and perhaps the most important.
